uncultured_bovine★★★★☆VerifiedEP 4If I were Mimi', I'd be rebelling instead omg. Can't imagine how her life's been before the current events here T^T Whatever the nurse's grand scheme is, you go gurl!
Her roommate dies, and the teacher announces it like reading off attendance. Class moves on. That's the world Sheena Totsuki lives in, an orphanage that doesn't raise children so much as produce soldiers for a war that's been grinding on so long nobody remembers what peace looks like. Kids get shipped to the front lines and don't come back, and everyone around Sheena has just accepted that as normal. She hasn't. She's the one person in this place who still feels the weight of every empty bed, every name that stops being called. And somewhere in the middle of all that death, she falls in love. This is a girls love story set against one of the bleakest backdrops you could imagine: child soldiers, endless war, institutional numbness, and from what the manga sets up, the romance isn't there to soften things. It makes everything sharper. Caring about someone in a place designed to make you stop caring is its own kind of rebellion. If you liked The Promised Neverland's oppressive institution vibes or Gunslinger Girl's quiet tragedy of kids shaped into weapons, this hits similar notes but threads a love story through the center of it. Studio ROLL2 is adapting the manga for a 2026 TV series, and the fantasy and school elements suggest there's more to this world than just the battlefield. The title tells you exactly what you're signing up for: love with an expiration date.

hellozaworldo★★★★☆VerifiedEP 4The reveals in this episode are insane. But what surprised me more was the other sensei's POV 🥹 but it makes sense too bc whelp, everyone's human here 🥺
b4kasamaaaaa★★★★☆VerifiedEP 4This episode was more dialogue heavy but the weight of the themes make you think, especially with Sheena’s internal monologue. I hate that there are death flags everywhere even if I haven’t read the manga 😭 but the dread is so heavy

tsubasa★★★★☆VerifiedEP 4Great world building episode. We learn just how terrible the war is going and why they need to resort to children. We also learn that the teacher isn't just some emotionless machine. Melancholic episode yes, but very solid imo
looooooser★★★★☆VerifiedEP 4i like how we explore Sheena’s character, she is very compassionate to Mimi and she feels bad for Mimi, really enjoyed the scene in the flowers, still waiting for the GL though… is it going to be a love story???
looooooser★★★★☆VerifiedEP 3i liked the contrast between mimi and her innocence and the big secret that she holds
looooooser★★★★☆VerifiedEP 2i like that we get to learn more about Mimi, the repairing kiss was amazing! i don’t really like the animation usually, feels very CGI-computer-video gamey but i really liked that sequence
looooooser★★★☆☆VerifiedEP 1i liked it generally but there are some things that make me go “ughh(?)” 1) they kiss in the first episode??? bruh 2) is this a love story? ughh i’m not sure, is it going to be just bait and they kiss only to cure themselves?? not sure
rinn123★★★☆☆VerifiedEP 4More backstory on Mimi and some more cute moments.
sumi_e★★★☆☆VerifiedEP 4Looks like its setting up for a long emotional trip explosion once the secret is out. Hope this is something we can get the answer to on 1 season, don't think it can go on for multiple season without the full reveal.
