The theme of this episode seems to be tools 🤔. The first story shows how Hozuki got his Kanabō back when he was going through his angsty teenage phase, while the second story introduces his childhood friends from the Engineering Department, the people behind the tools used in Hell. It also works as a proper introduction for the two characters and gives us a glimpse of what they do.

I found this episode enjoyable and not heavy to watch. It did deliver a flashback of Hozuki when he was young and full of anger, and we even had a little bit of a fight there. Then it shifted to a more relaxed part focused on another character's moments, which was a little bit boring but still understandable for the plot
