Dark downer ending, with not all the curses necessarily resolved, but that's in keeping with horror stories. Being that this is October and it fits with the season, I'm going to keep watching.

Episode Context

Photographs and reflections become the trap lines in a compact urban-legend case centered on Sayuri and Izumi. What begins as ordinary school-age friendship curdles into paranoia as the two confront signs that an unseen presence has entered their lives. The episode runs on a tightening countdown rather than action, building dread out of eerie visual discoveries and the unnerving uncertainty over the haunting's rules, where one wrong move carries weight. Fushigi and Jimmy hover at the edges as detached investigators, Fushigi's cool, unsettling manner sharpening the contrast with the girls' escalating fear. Little Nanoka factors into the case. Suspenseful observation and ominous clues carry the hour, making this a single-case story that trades spectacle for the slow creep of being watched.
