The awkwardness of being a teenager, failed confessions, and a trip to Kyoto. When the focus is on the games and the characters simply having fun, the comedy and charm land perfectly. Yet the misunderstandings persist, leading to more slapstick “humor” that, unless you enjoy it, may make you dread future interactions.
