This scientific detachment quickly gives way to raw violence as the Tenshin unleashes another flurry of attacks. Sagiri cries out, struck multiple times, blood splattering. Gabimaru's eyes glow with rage; his transformation intensifies, a protective instinct overriding his earlier annoyance, determined to face the threat alone.

Despite Gabimaru's solo declaration, Sagiri and Shion rise, injured but resolute. Shion reaffirms their plan, a strategy leveraging his metal Tao with Sagiri's earth. He launches her into the air, and she delivers a decisive blow to the Tenshin's arm, drawing blood. Their combined effort, a surprise to Sagiri, proves their earlier tactical assessment was correct, giving them a fleeting advantage.

Tamiya Gantetsu, always impetuous, plunges into the pool, striking the Tenshin but disrupting the coordinated assault. Sagiri and Shion admonish him, knowing his wounds will reopen. The Tenshin, adapting quickly, rises from the water, its form shifting from attack to defense, its horrifying plant-like tendrils expanding. The monster changes its strategy, confounding the group once more.

Gabimaru, observing the Tenshin's new defensive state, understands its healing mechanism. He proposes a desperate plan: simultaneously destroying both the Wood and Metal aspects of the creature. He divides the group, pairing himself with Gantetsu and leaving Sagiri and Shion to their previous successful strategy. His taunting instruction to Sagiri to 'think for yourself' is a peculiar blend of arrogance and genuine mentorship.

The battle rages, taking a heavy toll. Sagiri is struck down, forcing Shion to catch her and remind her of their critical role. Gabimaru, his demonic form fully engaged, unleashes a powerful attack, a desperate effort to create an opening. Tamiya Gantetsu, pierced and bleeding, charges directly into the Tenshin's barrage, knowingly sacrificing himself to allow Sagiri and Shion a clear shot. The scene shifts to Jufua's tender embrace of the disintegrating Taufu, a surprising moment of grief and affection between these beings. A flashback shows Rien, meditating within a pentagram, warning Sagiri and Yuzuriha not to provoke her. Her calm demeanor is chilling, her power palpable. Yuzuriha recognizes that this is not the Tansen Palace she expected, nor is it the Ri An she knew. Rien draws her sword, ready for a fight, her intent clear. Sagiri, despite her fear, attempts to apologize for their intrusion, trying to de-escalate the tension.

Rien rejects Sagiri's apology, revealing the horrifying truth: humans are merely ingredients for their elixir, no more than cattle. She coldly explains the Tenshin's discovery of humanity's 'high-quality Tao' as the reason for their exploitation. She scoffs at the human capacity for doubt, and thus for powerful Tao, which the Tenshin lack. For Rien, the perfected elixir means there is no common ground, only conquest.

Despite her cold resolve, Rien is not entirely immune. She struggles, her face contorting in pain as powerful Tao energy courses through her. Her body begins to mutate, skin cracking, elongating, until she is a grotesque, monstrous creature, declaring herself the strongest Tenshin. With a malicious grin, she unleashes devastating power, tearing apart the palace and reshaping the island in her destructive image. Sagiri and Yuzuriha watch in despair, overwhelmed by her god-like might.

The entire fight sequence against Rien unfolds as a relentless, brutal struggle. Every hit, every dodge, every desperate use of special abilities defines this prolonged confrontation. The human characters are pushed to their absolute limits against a foe who embodies the island's raw, destructive power. This is the climactic test of their resolve, skill, and fragile alliances, with victory hanging by the thinnest thread.
