Hell's Paradise Season 2 Episode 10: Master and Student

A young Tenza kneels beneath a cherry blossom tree, asking Shion to continue his sword training. He stumbles over his words, eager to show respect, a slight blush on his face. Shion, with eyes closed in serene acceptance, grants his wish. It's a quiet beginning, full of simple hope and connection.

The two walk through a lush, fantastical forest, Tenza chattering about how much he owes Shion for teaching him the sword. He speaks with youthful enthusiasm. Shion responds with a gentle, humorous tap on the head with his katana hilt, acknowledging Tenza's enduring "teacher mode" comment with a quiet smile. Their bond is clear, easy, built on affection and shared purpose.

The scene shifts abruptly to terror. Tenza's eyes widen in absolute horror as a Tensen speaks with chilling calm. Shion's hand covers his mouth, blood seeping through his fingers. We see Tenza's desperate, failed attack and the Tensen's terrifying power. The Tensen touches Tenza, and his body begins to wither and crack, a scream tearing from his throat, witnessed by a horrified Female Ninja.

Shion lies on the ground, blood still staining his face, tears mixing with it as he cries out in anguish. He sees Tenza's lifeless form. Then, a ghostly, transparent vision of Tenza appears, covered in sweat and screaming in agony, blood streaming from his eyes. Shion convulsing, his own body deteriorating, screaming in helpless torment.

The scene cuts to the present, where Shion and the Female Ninja face a grotesque, giant Tensen in a hall filled with disfigured bodies. The Tensen speaks with ancient malice, acknowledging the pain of loss. Shion, his neck bandaged and his face strained, grits his teeth and declares that those who have lost "never forget." The Female Ninja notes the Tensen's weakening state, its body shrunken and aged, but it draws power from the surrounding bodies.

The Tensen unleashes its power, causing floating bodies to menace Shion and the Female Ninja. Shion pushes her back, telling her to "Stay back!" His face glows with fierce determination, his eyes opening with new resolve. After a brief struggle, he collapses, appearing defeated, but the Tensen mocks him, saying he struggles "just like me!" The Tensen then notes that Shion "can't keep an empty threat."

Shion unleashes a powerful sword technique, "Tamashi-tori. Autumn Reigns," cutting through the menacing bodies. He plunges his katana into the Tensen's chest, but the creature screams, "He can't reach my Tanden!" Shion then grabs a smaller sword and attacks again, crying "Tetsu!" blood exploding from the Tensen's chest. He collapses again, utterly spent, but the Tensen is still not defeated.

The Female Ninja watches, tears in her eyes, as Shion pushes himself to his limits. Shion screams, a blue aura radiating from him, pushing back the grotesque forms. He declares, "I swear it. I'll settle this." When the Tensen lunges, the Female Ninja tries to protect Shion, but he shoves her out of the way, dodging the attack. He looks at her grimly, then embraces her, preparing for whatever comes next.
