Hell Mode: The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World with Garbage Balancing Season 2

Good one so far. Watched both seasons and it seems to be going at a faster pace in 2 than it did in season 1. Good fights and love how the gamer mentality is strong in this.

Some might say the pacing at the start of the season was a bit slow, but as a gamer who shares the same principles as Allen, I found it understandable. As for the ending, it honestly felt like they had only completed about 25% of the main quest 🤔. There’s still so much more for them to accomplish and plenty of enemies left to fight. P.S. What happened with Dogora was kind of cliché, though.

You can call the CGI summons cheap and the static frames what you want but the buildup from the feast to Helmios holding his Holy Sword until the exact opening still landed for me. Allen flat out telling the party to run if they can't win is the kind of raid mindset you don't get in most of these shows. That willingness to treat his friends as units and also want them alive is a weird balance and it works

the reveal that Razel has extra hearts had me yelling at my screen. allen prepares this whole elaborate opening and the boss just tanks it all

That jester showing up to hand Razel his power a thousand years back frames the whole fight differently. He wanted something badly enough to trade everything and this is where it landed

Kurena coughing up blood after that single punch is what sells how hopeless this fight is. One hit and the healer is already working overtime

I was fully ready for Dogora to be the one member who just never gets an extra skill. Watching him think back to training with Allen while Razel is swatting him around like nothing got me more than anything else this episode

The boss reveal felt like a classic phase two. Helmios stabs the heart and Razel just laughs and grows more arms. Allen's face when his grimoire log went wrong said everything

So a legendary hero lands a Holy Sword and the Majin still has spare hearts. Trash balancing indeed. This is why Allen treats the party like raid units and that cold gamer instinct is the actual reason they're still alive

Some of the summons looked really stiff this week. If the final episode can't bring the animation for the last swing I don't know what we're doing

Dogora finally getting Breaker after watching everyone else flex their extra skills all season is the payoff I was waiting for. Dude spent the whole fight getting his ribs broken and still jumped. That charge animation was the best the show has looked all year

The whole running a war like a raid schedule thing with the 8 hour three shift rotation got me. Allen turning an entire battlefield into a spreadsheet is the funniest flex in this show

I cannot get over Allen literally renting out the legendary hero for a ten day loan period like he's a library book. The man values Helmios in units of elven elixir and I find that so funny

that was supposed to be about elven medicine and war crimes why am I tearing up over Keel blaming himself for the ten thousand casualties he can't save

Dogora freezing up against the A rank beasts hit way harder than any of the big summon moments. He's just a regular guy standing next to monsters and you can feel how much that scares him

My favorite thing this whole episode was Helmios flat out telling Allen he'd probably die fighting Rezel and then just showing up anyway to help

Allen grinding out a million demons at sea while his party panics back at the fort because he won't sleep is peak gamer nonsense in the best way

The Deputize skill finally getting shown off with all those summons sweeping the fleet kind of made me want to boot up an RTS again
