Reincarnated as a Sword Season 2
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A guy dies and gets reincarnated as a sword. Not a hero, not a demon lord, not even a slime, a sword. Stuck in the ground in the middle of nowhere. That's the starting point for Shishou, a sentient blade who eventually gets picked up by Fran, a young Black Cat beastgirl who was literally enslaved before their paths crossed. Season 1 established their bond: a mentor who happens to be a weapon and a quiet, stoic kid with a dream no one in her tribe has ever pulled off: evolution. Now season 2 picks up where they left off, pushing deeper into a fantasy world that's more layered than the typical isekai backdrop. New regions, new enemies, and Fran continuing to grow as a fighter while Shishou feeds her abilities and tactical advice from the hilt. The dynamic between them is genuinely the heart of the show; it's not just a power fantasy, it's a found-family story where one half is literally a piece of steel. The action stays sharp (pun intended) and the world-building keeps expanding without drowning you in exposition. If you liked the isekai-object gimmick of Reborn as a Vending Machine but wanted more substance, or if That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and So I'm a Spider, So What? are your lane, this fits right in. C2C is handling the TV series again, slated for 2026.

The first episode got a more serious vive compared to season 1.. But the fun is still there, Fran and Teacher's teamwork makes the story both funny and awesome.. And the opening theme.. It's like listening to One OK Rock.. Everything is good here.
Four years of waiting and Fran just casually surfing on Teacher through the clouds like it's a normal Tuesday. That whole ascent had me grinning like an idiot. Worth every day of the wait
Jean releasing Andy's soul before he faded got me more than it should have for a skeleton dragon that existed for one episode
the new OP genuinely caught me off guard with how dark it is. feels like a completely different show for a minute there. not complaining though
I did not sign up to watch a little cat girl get her legs carved up and scream through a hallucination of burning alive. this was supposed to be a cozy dad and daughter dungeon show
Jean figuring out Teacher is a talking sword within like two minutes of meeting him was not something I had on my bingo card. Fran's face when it happened says it all. The guy just reads souls for fun
The curry eating contest between Fran and Jean while Urushi just watches is the dumbest most charming thing and I need more of it. Teacher sitting there like a proud dad running a restaurant
That OP goes hard. Symphonic metal out of nowhere and the visuals look like a completely different show than the one where Fran is eating curry
Space-time relocation instead of real invulnerability was a nice twist but I wish the fight had shown Fran visibly figuring it out instead of Jean just explaining it. Still a strong episode and that final light coated slash looked expensive
Stephane destroying the animus engine off screen was the best choice the episode made. Everyone else is grinding the boss and she quietly cuts the lifeline. Tiny ghost girl carried the whole fight
Those gold and silver skeletons felt like mini bosses dropped into a normal encounter so the win would feel earned. It worked for me even if the escalation was a bit much
Fran saying she has to survive so she can eat curry with everyone again sent me. High fantasy stakes and her whole reason for living is a plate of food. Somehow that made the despair hit harder
The clue is in the title. Bid farewell with a smile. Stephane is not making it out of episode five and I am already dreading it
Fran getting slammed into walls and still standing back up hurt to watch. She is a kid and the show never lets you forget that she is a kid fighting monsters that want to break her spirit
Jean coughing up blood right after that purification spell says everything about this show. He saved them and it cost him something real. Not a single free win in this dungeon
the skeleton knight using its own life force for Potential Release is such a sick boss design. it literally burns itself out for power. no wonder that fight nearly killed Fran
Fran screaming through the High Lich fear vision then snapping back and drawing Teacher anyway was the moment I finally stopped treating this as a cute side watch
my favorite thing here is how Teacher keeps spending evolution points like a man emptying his wallet to keep his kid alive. maxing magic barrier then dumping more into sword art while she refuses to quit. that is the whole show in one night
sure the fight looked great but Teacher has shapeshift now and just never thought to stretch the blade mid swing against the fastest thing he has ever fought
the tiny skeleton with the flower on its head is the only pure thing left in this episode
