It's so crazy how fast the "freak quick move" is. They are really the best duo ever and I didn't expect Kageyama and Hinata could be such an amazing duo! It's really so perfect to put them together!

The matchup feels original. Conversations between sets keep to the rhythm of the flow. The fight is amazing for its stunning sequence. Self-attesting monologues feel super. It shapes the character depth much. Learning and adapting are the core of a team, and it’s portrayed nicely

This was such a great episode that it truly shifted things for the former rivals. Honestly, one of the best so far—not only did the characters grow, but the story itself moved forward in a meaningful way.

Episode Context

Coming off Episode 3's tentative acknowledgment of each other's abilities, Episode 4 escalates the Hinata-Kageyama relationship from reluctant recognition into active collaboration under competitive stakes. It's a pivotal early-season turning point, still within the first quarter of 25 episodes, that transforms their rivalry into something the rest of the season will build on. The groundwork laid here feeds directly into Episode 5, 'A Coward's Anxiety,' where the internal and external pressures on the team intensify further.
