Karasuno’s third years step up when the team needs them most. Daichi’s leadership, Sugawara’s steady playmaking, and Asahi’s crushing spikes remind everyone how valuable experience can be in tense matches.

Sugawara's setting style is different than other setters- which left everyone shock! (even me🙂). This episode perfectly contrasts Kageyama's raw, overwhelming talent with Sugawara’s emotional intelligence and tactical observation. Love how he encourages other for little extra work. Match is getting interesting!!!

It’s refreshing to see the other team members get highlighted and show off their unique skills. I especially loved the focus on Sugawara—he’s such a quiet genius. Always in the background, yet he constantly comes up with smart suggestions that really help the whole team.

It's so funny seeing which one's Sugawara's favorite among the team from hitting them except for Nishinoya, giving him a double five. This episode displays Sugawara being a very influential senpai to the team. He is the mom of the team, as I like to call it.

I think Sugawara also deserves to be called a genius because of his ability to read the flow of the game, take advantage of each player's strengths, and encourage his team. An interesting character and not as prominent as Kageyama in the setter position.

Sugawara is special in his own way as a setter. He helps ease the pressure and keeps the team calm when things get intense. Oikawa’s service ace streak was stopped by Daichi, and Asahi’s spike was powerful. This episode truly belongs to the third years.

Finally, the moment I have been waiting for!! the upperclassmen moments with daichi stability, asahi's power as an ace, and sugawara's quiet control as a setter. I loved how the episode balanced hype with character focus.

Sugawara shows his ability as a setter when he steps onto the court. Even though he is not as much of a genius as Kageyama, he demonstrates his elegance and reliability as both a setter and a senior. This proves that the character development progresses very well.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 21 of 25, this lands deep in the Aoba Johsai match that serves as the season's climactic showdown. The previous episode established Oikawa as a relentless tactical threat, forcing Karasuno to adapt — now the response comes from within the team's own depth. This episode directly sets up 'Evolution,' where the adjustments and leadership shifts introduced here are pressure-tested as the match barrels toward its conclusion.
