you really see why they were called the flightless crows after that flashback and it makes every point Tanaka and Hinata get feel like a huge middle finger to that history

those scenes with Daichi and the others struggling against the vines in the flashback makes this final set feel so much heavier and you can really tell how much they want this

I was not prepared for that flashback to the third years starting out, and those scenes with the vines really showed how stagnant things used to be. It makes me appreciate Daichi and Sugawara so much more for sticking it out when they had no coach. Seeing them push through the exhaustion in this deuce is making me so nervous

I can't believe Hinata actually pulled off that left hand spike. The look on the Shiratorizawa coach's face was worth everything

the way Kageyama is looking so worn out is stressful to watch. He has been doing everything this entire match and that 28 to 27 score is pure torture

Ushijima is a human wall and the fact that Nishinoya is still getting those touches after all these sets is the most impressive thing about this defense

The flashback with Daichi and the vines really showed how much they struggled without a coach and it makes this fifth set feel way more earned

Everything about those third year flashbacks hit me so hard because it makes this match feel way more personal than just a game

Kageyama looks like he is about to pass out on the court and you can really feel the weight of every single set he makes

Yamaguchi coming in and nailing those serves right when the pressure is highest shows how much he has grown since the beginning

Hinata pulling out that left hand spike was such a massive shock and seeing him wait for a compliment from Kageyama was actually hilarious

When I saw Daichi and the others as tiny first-years in that flashback, struggling without a coach, it really made me appreciate just how long they've been fighting for this. My eyes started watering with Tashiro in the locker room, because you could just feel how much he wanted this victory for them, and now they're finally on that court, making it count.

Kageyama having that scary look on his face while the score is stuck in deuce makes the whole atmosphere feel way more heavy and stressful

I was actually tearing up during that flashback with the former captain because those seniors really had nothing and Daichi still decided to fix it all by himself and his friends

i was holding my breath through that entire 5th set rally especially when the score hit 14 all and it went into deuce because any mistake ends it all right now

Coach Washijo being so mad about Karasuno being a hodgepodge team is hilarious because their weird style is the only thing working against a monster like Ushijima

Those shots of Oikawa and Iwaizumi in the stands were a huge surprise and you can tell Oikawa is just there to watch someone lose their mind

tsukishima leading the block to force ushijima right into nishinoya is such a smart move and you can see he is starting to actually enjoy the game now

Yamaguchi stepping up for that pinch serve at the start of the final set made the pressure feel so real and he looked so focused on those wobbly floaters

Nishinoya really is the guardian deity because he is the only one who can handle those serves and it keeps the whole team from falling apart

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at the exact midpoint of this ten-episode season dedicated entirely to the Karasuno vs. Shiratorizawa match, episode 6 follows a devastating third-set loss that threatened to break the team's momentum. This is the regrouping episode — where character depth fuels the tactical pivot needed to stay alive in the match, setting the stage for the high-wire final stretch across the remaining four episodes.
