I was literally holding my breath when that ball was rolling along the net and the way Hinata just barely got it over was the highlight of my whole week

Tendou is actually terrifying and hearing that little song he was singing while staring down Tsukishima was so creepy but it also made the win at the end of the set feel so much better

It is wild seeing the difference between Shiratorizawa using brute force and Karasuno doing those crazy synchronized attacks and that last point where the ball trickled over the net was intense

I really wasn't sure how they were going to get past Tendou since his intuition makes him almost impossible to beat and he was getting into everyone's heads with that creepy singing. But Tsukishima stepping up and coordinating the entire defensive line for that one-touch on Ushijima was such a huge moment for him and I can't believe they actually tied it up.

Nishinoya diving for those insane lefty spikes from Ushijima is the only thing keeping the nerves together and watching that triple block actually touch Ushijimas spike was everything

Tsukishima calling Ushijima a "normal guy" was such an unexpected moment from him, it totally made my jaw drop! I mean, who thought *he* would be the one to light that fire under the "guess monster," completely flipping the energy on the court? It genuinely had me cheering for his character development.

My skin was crawling when Tendou did that weird little dance after his first block and he is the most annoying opponent yet but you cannot deny his instincts are scary

I am obsessed with Tsukishima adjusting his glasses and calling himself a normal guy after reading that guess block because he finally looks like he cares about winning

Watching that ball roll across the top of the net at the very end felt like it took forever, but Karasuno taking the set after all that stress was such a massive win.

Tendou is actually terrifying and the way he sings about breaking souls while shutting down attacks makes him feel like a horror villain instead of a volleyball player
faye_valentine's avatar

That soul crushing song Tendou was singing actually creeped me out so much because he looked like a total monster with those wide eyes
ram_rage_145's avatar

Coach Ukai talking about not wasting time dreading the future really hits hard because of the voice actor situation and it made the whole match feel heavier
trunks_traveler_85's avatar
trunks_traveler_85
Tendou is such a freak, and his weird little dance after a block is so annoying, and he really does feel like a villain from a different show with those huge unblinking eyes and that creepy energy

Tsukishima organizing that triple block against Ushijima was so cool, and it was the first time I felt like they actually had a chance to win a set here

Nishinoya diving for that impossible ball right before the final point showed why he is the best libero, and it gave Kageyama the perfect chance to set for Hinata
rangiku_rider's avatar

Watching Tsukishima give Tendou that deadpan look while he was singing was hilarious and watching him use logic to stop those guess blocks is cool
sterngrand_sword_488's avatar
sterngrand_sword_488
Ushijima is a literal wall and the way he just blasts through a triple block is scary but watching Karasuno coordinate their total defense to finally funnel his shots toward Nishinoya was such a smart move
sailor_neptune's avatar
sailor_neptune
That final point where the ball just crawled across the top of the net felt like it took an eternity and you could see the sheer panic on the Shiratorizawa side for once which was a nice change since they usually look so invincible especially with Ushijima just powering through everything Karasuno throws at them but taking that set was massive
meninas_486's avatar

When Yamaguchi came in for the pinch serve you could really feel the pressure on him to get that break point for the team and keep the set alive

The ball crawling over the net after Hinata's broad attack felt like it took an hour and I was holding my breath until it finally hit the floor

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off Episode 2's focus on withstanding Ushijima's overwhelming offensive power, Episode 3 layers in a new dimension of difficulty by spotlighting Shiratorizawa's defensive wildcard, Tendō. Positioned early in this 10-episode season dedicated entirely to one match, this episode deepens the strategic complexity Karasuno must navigate and directly sets up the intensified counterattack efforts that define Episode 4 and beyond.
