watching the flashback with akiteru is always so painful. i completely understand why tsukishima felt so betrayed by the lie, but yamaguchi proving what an amazing and supportive friend he is during this whole mess is just so beautiful to see

resolving tsukishima's deeply rooted apathy requires confronting the humiliating reality of his brother's fabricated legacy. while his prolonged bitterness borders on excessive, the psychological foundation for his defensive detachment is remarkably well-constructed and compelling.

Tsuki's past with Akiteru is always painful to watch not in a hurtful way but in an embarrassing way. I can understand why he felt betrayed but it doesn't mean you need to be annoying forever like girl... grow up! move the hell on! and oh I just noticed how good of a friend Yamaguchi actually is

The camp continues with increasingly intense scrimmages. A standout rally features Bokuto entering one of his emotional slumps mid match, forcing teammates to adjust and demonstrating how fragile even star players can be.

The episode focuses on "deattachment feeling" of Tsuki seeing his volleyball team as "just a club" through his brother's past story. Because he doesn't wanted to go through what his brother had. But seeing opposite team's captains, Kuroo and Bokuto peeking Tsuki to help them in blocking waa absolutely crazy! 😂

Episode 8 circles around the themes of friendship, persistence, and hope. It is an emotional episode while consistently introducing and shaping the characters by revealing their past. The climax does emanate the tension we need, mixed with cinematic poetry within the conflict.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned at roughly the one-third mark of Season 2, this episode arrives during the training camp arc and follows the intensifying practice sessions of 'Moonrise,' offering a deliberate narrative pause before the team pushes forward. It serves as the essential foundation for Tsukishima's character trajectory across the rest of the season, giving emotional weight to every moment he'll have on the court going forward. The next episode, 'VS. Umbrella,' picks the pace back up as Karasuno returns to practice matches with renewed team cohesion.
