This episode showed a sneak peek of the past of the most nonchalant player in Karasuno—Tsukki! I love how they used the sun and moon to describe Hinata and Tsukki’s roles, and it’s the actual meaning of their names. This is an essential episode to Tsukki’s character development!

the animal metaphors they use to describe the teams and plays are always so incredibly cool! hearing tsukishima try to convince himself that it is just a club so he doesn't get hurt is so sad, but i know his huge growth arc is finally getting closer

furudate's persistent use of animalistic visual metaphors remains a stylistic triumph. the episode effectively isolates tsukishima's apathetic defense mechanism against the overwhelming passion of the tokyo training camp, perfectly setting the stage for his impending character arc

Tsukishima begins showing genuine interest in volleyball during a late-night practice session. The key moment comes when Bokuto passionately explains the thrill of blocking, igniting a spark that Tsukishima had long suppressed.

This episode beautifully shifts the focus to the rest of the team as they realize that if the freak duo is changing, they can’t afford to stand still. Whole team is hyper-fired seeing kageyama and hinata's learnings. Everyone is learning the new techniques. But there is some dark cloud between our chaotic duo after the argument 😕

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 7 of 25, 'Moonrise' is firmly embedded in the second season's training camp arc, continuing the skill refinement and team restructuring that began after the devastating losses of season one. It follows directly from 'Tempo,' where Hinata and Kageyama started overhauling their signature quick attack, and sets the stage for 'Illusionary Hero,' which pushes individual character growth — especially Tsukishima's — even further. This stretch of episodes is the foundation for everything Karasuno will attempt in competition later this season.
