A brooding, deeply psychological chapter centered around lost memories and ancestral guilt. The visual palette relies heavily on stark crimson overlays and bleeding watercolor backdrops to illustrate internal visions. The tight, claustrophobic camera framing on Ichiyou's face masterfully emphasizes his growing despair.
This episode got dark. I wasn't expecting it to dive this deeply into the darker side of the mythology. The suspense was fantastic and the somber atmosphere paired beautifully with the soundtrack. The antagonists finally feel more compelling too.
In my opinion the pacing in this episode is a tad bit all over the place. But the setting or i guess "arc" this time around is interesting, focusing on Otohime's castle was nice.
