EPISODE REVIEWS

An intricate, character-driven look at the elite core of the divine world. The scenery moves to the lavish, icy architecture of the Ankei Home and the palaces of the Eight Immortals. The graphics deliver massive environmental details, utilizing crisp crystal filters and pale blue hues to underscore the cold authority of the Queen Mother of the West

There was a lot more emotion packed into this episode than I expected. I liked the realistic way it handles illness and how fragile people can be. The kids facing reality gave the story some depth too.

An episode that is dedicated mostly to a flashback this early is definitely an odd choice, but the flashback that is shown is really hitting harder than I expected. Although the pace is a bit slow but this may serve as an important setup for later on.
