Holy shit, that was an exceptional opening and premise. It's not often you come across anime like this nowadays. The animation isn't top tier, but it's nostalgic of that kind of style that we were once used to and it perfectly fits the mature theme of the show. The sound effects, the setting and even the soundtrack were all great. Really looking forward to the rest of it!

Lo que parecía un acto bondadoso hacia una niña podría ser un nuevo infierno para ella. Aunque Henrietta demuestra tener un gran talento, hay cosas de su nueva vida que aún no comprende. Me gusta la oscuridad y tristeza que este primer capítulo deja entrever, con un excelente soundtrack.

Episode 1 is a very strong introduction to the world of Gunslinger Girl. It does an excellent job of explaining the background of the organization and how the young girls are trained. The anime gradually reveals enough information to keep you curious without giving away everything at once. I also enjoyed the attention to detail in the weapons and equipment they use. It is definitely the kind of opening episode that makes me want to continue watching the series.
