Episode 1 is a very strong introduction to the world of Gunslinger Girl. It does an excellent job of explaining the background of the organization and how the young girls are trained. The anime gradually reveals enough information to keep you curious without giving away everything at once. I also enjoyed the attention to detail in the weapons and equipment they use. It is definitely the kind of opening episode that makes me want to continue watching the series.
