Golden Kamuy really has it's vibes down- vibes that I have never really seen in any other anime. There’s a constant sense that everyone in this story is only one bad decision away from doing a violence (lol).

Wow... It's definitely have more actions compared to the previous episodes. The motive from one of the faction about why they want the gold is also really interesting, 8/10 I would say

We get a nice break from the hunt and dive into Asirpa’s backstory. The animation dips a bit and isn’t as fluid, but I still enjoyed it. Learning more about the Ainu culture and lore was really interesting and adds depth to the story.

Another great episode that has you on a roller coaster. Wholesome and cute mixed with dark and sinister! As treasure tends to do, more and more are drawn in and things get chaotic. I love me a good villain and unhinged henchmen, and Tsurumi is it!

Gritty 7th Division graphics introduce Lieutenant Tsurumi. Tsurumi biting off a finger is the peak moment. This episode feels like the villains are absolutely unhinged and terrifying.

I never expected that this show would have sooo much foods on their screen, back again, we're talking about Sugimoto the explorer here, of course we're going places with food. And here comes the episode of why they calling him... The eternal. It's getting more tense from now on

This is probably the best historical action show out there currently and this is totally a perfect 10/10 anime... the best part about it is how it respects the phrase 'survival adventure' meaning i like how it is satisfyingly 50% brutal high-stakes thriller and 50% dark comedy.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting one-third into the first season, 'Grim Reaper' marks a clear tonal escalation from the alliance-building foundation of episodes one through three, particularly following 'Kamuy Mosir' where Sugimoto and Asirpa solidified their partnership. This installment pushes the gold hunt into genuinely perilous territory, introducing threats that raise the stakes for everyone involved. It serves as the pivot point that sets up the intensifying race for the Ainu gold across the season's second act.
