Probably the weakest episode so far in term of animation and pacing, but it's still well balanced by the plot progression (new information on Tsurumi and Wilk!). All in all a "calm before the storm" type of experience.

We slow down the action for some much needed lore dump that clarifies so many things since the first season. And while the main reveal takes the limelight, other small, but ultimately important lore pieces are uncovered. This is shaping up for a tense moment for all involved.

This episode delivered the backstory perfectly with a tense atmosphere throughout. The mysteries slowly getting pieced together made the reveal even more satisfying.

Episode Context

Following the fractured, faction-driven violence of the preceding episodes, this midpoint installment brings the physical chase to a standstill as Tsurumi consolidates his position and turns to psychological pressure over brute force. It functions as a critical pivot, using interrogation and confrontation to surface the ideological fractures within Tsurumi's ranks and hint at the deeper historical secrets still buried beneath the season's central conflict. What unfolds here sets the emotional and thematic stakes that the back half of the final season will have to reckon with.
