Such a great exploration of what being gay in school feels like, and what it feels like to crush on someone who is seemingly straight and how much it hurts. Very accurate. Broke my heart and built it back up again in every episode. I adore them both.

Episode Context

Sitting at the midpoint of a 13-episode season, this episode arrives just after Nakamura and Hirose's friendship has found steadier footing, offering a breather from emotional development in favor of pure comedic relief. It functions as a palette cleanser that reinforces the ensemble dynamic before the back half of the season likely steers things in a more emotionally charged direction. The shared experiences here quietly continue building the camaraderie that will matter when stakes rise later.
