This episode is a masterpiece 🔥 seeing young Batou and Motoko before Section 9 was so cool. the dynamic between Motoko and Saito during their first meeting was electric. the animation style during the flashback was gorgeous. best standalone of the season.

This one belongs to Saito. He recounts the story of his very first encounter with Motoko before Section 9, before any of it, and how that meeting eventually led him here. It's essentially a prequel episode told in flashback.

Saito episode. this one is BEAUTIFUL. flashback to a war zone. Motoko in a Ripley shirt. a younger Batou. Ishikawa. they're all there before Section 9 was official. Saito is a sniper for hire. he's tracking Motoko. she takes his arm and his eye. "From now on you're mine." 😤
