Episode Context

Episodes 1 and 2 handled the gate's opening, the initial battle, and the JSDF establishing a foothold in the Special Region, Episode 3 is where the recon mission collides with the world's actual mythology and the real dangers beyond human armies. This is a pivotal early-season turning point that introduces key characters and complications, setting the foundation for the increasingly complex relationships between the JSDF and local populations that drive the middle stretch of the season.
