Episode Context

After the dazzling and disorienting Luna prologue of Episodes 1 and 2, this episode plants the Count firmly in Paris, the true battlefield of the series. Albert's circle, including his fiancée Eugénie, now enters the picture, expanding the cast of potential pawns. This is the foundational episode for the Count's long game in Parisian society, and nearly every relationship introduced here will carry significant weight as the season's web of vengeance tightens.
