Prendere per i fondelli uno come Kimble che te dice testuali parole: "NON SONO SOPRAVISSUTO A ISHAVL PERCHE' SONO BELLO" dimmi te se non è da TSO. Comunque, gran episodio.

The new opening theme Period is such a great track and those visuals with the shattering gate really set the mood for how crazy things are getting at Fort Briggs

Al choosing to protect those chimeras was so good because he really does see the humanity in everyone and it shows how much he has grown since the start of the journey

I really appreciated how Winry took charge because Ed always tries to carry everything on his own shoulders. Her choosing to be a fake hostage for Scar was a huge move and it showed she isn't just waiting around anymore. Seeing her give Ed her earrings as a promise was such a quiet and emotional moment between them for sure

Miles taking off those glasses and showing his red eyes really changed the whole mood in that room and he has such a different vibe than Scar about Ishval

I thought Winry was going to lose it when she saw Scar but she just started bandaging his arm and it was actually so heavy to watch her act like her parents would have

Helping the person who ruined her life just to honor her parents was a huge character moment for Winry and seeing Scar stunned by her kindness was powerful

Watching Al walk into that blizzard alone because he does not have to breathe was cool but then that vision at the gate happened and now everything feels way more urgent and terrifying

I felt so sick when Al saw his own body through the gate and it looked like a literal skeleton with long hair and he realized his soul is losing its grip on the armor

Winry coming up with the kidnapping plan herself made me so happy, and it was smart of her to find a way to escape Kimblee

Father moving those little figures on his board is so creepy and he already has his five sacrifices picked out while Ed and Al are just trying to survive the snow

Scar looked so confused when Winry bandaged him up and it really showed how much she grew past just wanting him dead after what he did to her family

My heart sank when the new opening started because you just know things are about to get even more serious and the music for Period is so good

The new opening song is so good and it fits the winter atmosphere perfectly and Yoki actually being the one to find the mining tunnels was surprising

Even Yoki managed to be useful for once by finding those mining tunnels and it was actually funny seeing him get a tiny bit of respect from the group

That vision Al had of his real body was terrifying and he looks so thin and ghostly that it makes the whole soul rejection thing feel way more urgent now

I was not expecting Winry to be the one to come up with the fake kidnapping plan and it made me respect her so much more for stepping up and finding a way out of that mess with Kimblee plus that moment where she gives Ed her earrings for safe keeping was so quiet and sweet and then Al sees his skeletal body

Ed grabbing Kimblee by the collar was intense, and the tension in that snowy room was thick enough to cut after he realized Winry was being used as bait

Father moving those little figures on his giant board makes the Elric brothers feel so small and it sucks knowing they are walking right into a trap while trying to save Al

Miles showing his red eyes and talking about changing the system from the inside gave the Ishvalan conflict a lot more nuance than just Scar's perspective and his chat with Scar felt earned

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the heightened tensions of 'Conflict at Baschool,' where protagonist-antagonist clashes reached a fever pitch, 'Daydream' functions as a crucial transitional episode—deepening bonds and repositioning characters on the board before the narrative pivots hard. Sitting at episode 39 of 64, this is the exact midpoint where Brotherhood begins threading its endgame strategy. The groundwork laid here feeds directly into 'Homunculus (The Dwarf in the Flask),' which pulls focus back to the series' central mythology and the looming threat that ties everything together.
