Watching Ling just accept that red stone and take on Greed was the wildest thing yet. You can see he is still in there somewhere because his ambition is just that massive and he wont let go

I was shaking when that man turned around and looked just like Hohenheim. I was totally losing it and then he just shuts off their alchemy like a light switch without even moving a muscle

Envy laughing about starting the Ishval war while Scar just watched in horror felt so heavy and I wanted to see Scar just tear him apart for that

Father is terrifying because he doesn't even see humans as people and he treats them like bugs on the ground

Ling really just looked a homunculus in the eye and told him his body was big enough for both of them and that was the coolest thing ever

I actually screamed when Father just stepped on the floor and suddenly Ed and Al couldn't use alchemy anymore. It made the situation feel so desperate, especially with Ling turning into Greed right in front of them. Seeing May and Scar show up was the only thing that saved them, and I'm still trying to process the Hohenheim reveal because it makes no sense

I honestly thought it was Hohenheim at first, and seeing him just sit there like a god while everyone else is fighting for their lives is so unsettling. Ling becoming the new Greed is such a massive shift because he was finally becoming part of the team, but now he is just a vessel for a homunculus with no memories of Ed.

Father sitting on that throne and treating humans like bugs was so unsettling and then he just pulls a stone out of his own chest like it is normal

May using her Alkaphestry while Ed was struggling to make a single spark was such a huge reveal and it changed everything about how the power system works

The realization that the whole city is probably wired for Father to control everyone's alchemy makes the threat feel so much bigger and the escape was so stressful

How Father can look exactly like their dad and heal Ed like it was nothing but then turn off their alchemy and leave them totally helpless is terrifying

Scar finding out that Envy was the one who actually started the war was such a massive moment and the way he just lunged at Father was pure rage

Ed screaming at the new Greed to wake up was heartbreaking because Ling is just gone behind that creepy smirk

Father just turned off Ed's alchemy with a single move and I was panicking because they were totally defenseless against Envy's true form

I still cannot believe Ling actually chose to let the stone into his body and hearing him talk to Greed inside his head gave me chills because he is so desperate for that throne

You can really feel Scar's hatred when he finds out Envy was the one who started the war, and that line about his only solace being damnation was so cold.

May and Scar using their powers while the brothers were powerless is a huge deal, and it makes you wonder where Father actually gets his energy from

That reveal about Father looking like Hohenheim completely threw me and Al's reaction to seeing his face was just painful to watch

I felt so bad for Ed when he realized Ling was gone and Greed had taken over his body because they were finally starting to work together as a team

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off 'Interlude Party,' which offered a moment of regrouping and character reflection, episode 28 violently shatters that calm by thrusting Ed, Al, and Ling into the heart of the conspiracy they've been circling for dozens of episodes. This is a definitive turning point nearly halfway through the series, transforming the Elrics' quest from a personal journey into something far larger in scope. The revelations here serve as the foundation for the escalating conflicts and shifting alliances that define Brotherhood's back half.
