Episode Context

Coming off Episode 6's emotionally grounded homecoming and Beryl's confrontation with his father, this episode pivots outward, away from family and into border nobility territory. It functions as a transition chapter, closing the village arc and opening the season's next major setting with new faces and courtly stakes. At the midpoint of a 12-episode season, it positions the political threads around Princess Salacia's future as the likely engine for what follows.
