Episode Context

Sitting at the midpoint of the series' 109-episode run, episode 55 escalates the Rei-Yuda conflict that has been simmering since Rei's confrontation with his fate under the Death Omen Star and Mamiya's endangerment in the prior episode. This installment serves as the dramatic bridge between setup and payoff, positioning the next episode as the climactic showdown between the two Nanto warriors. It's a critical chapter in Rei's arc that deepens his legacy before the story shifts its focus forward.
