Episode Context

Sitting at episode 61 of 102, this is the prologue chapter of the Tartaros arc, one of the most consequential arcs in the series. It follows directly from Fairy Tail's declaration of war against the Tartaros dark guild after their attack on a former Council member, escalating the conflict by putting more targets in the crosshairs. This episode establishes the threat level of the Tartaros demons and sets the stage for Natsu's inevitable direct showdown with Jackal in the episodes ahead.
