The story and concept are good, but the animation is really bad. For a 2021 anime, it could've been much better. And the battle scenes look like cutscenes from a PS1 fighting game, bruh.
Clearly the animation looks clumsy off the bat, from the transitions in the intro to the characters in 3D emoting on screen. It's quite the jarring thing to watch, and knowing it's been made in 2021 - surely this could've been done better? I wonder why the staff didn't stick out the 2D animation instead because that looked somewhat decent on all the background characters. Even the fighting scenes don't land its seriousness with how goofy the movements look like.
It's one of those "it could have been good if it was good". The weird mix of 2D and CGI is awful, the actual animation is even worse because the models are stiff and barely emote. The story actually seems really interesting with the premise of being a brain scan with no memories but it's hard to watch.
