Ever Night

This was a great episode because we can finally see Ning Que blossom from an underdog "woodchopper". This was definitely a level up moment for our MC, even the animation was peak here and the sound design of the qi was on a different level. This was a good cliffhanger for the end

This episode was a nice training for Ning Que, he finally met a master that can supplement his talents and foster his growth. The animation here is good and I liked how they made the sound of the talismans when drawn correctly. I am excited to see Ning Que use his new learnings.

This episode shifts Ning Que's destiny. The humor is perfectly balanced with the stakes in this episode. The tug of war for Ning Que is such a hit for me, even the chemistry between the Emperor, the Academy, and Yan Se made me feel like Ning Que is such a superstar.

It was so funny seeing the Emperor's reaction when he found out who was the one who made the calligraphy. I like how they have written the Emperor, he is rather a humble character. Seeing the Emperor treat Ning Que as an equal in art tells a lot about his character.

Finally an episode with something interesting. The pacing pick up especially the part where they duel, not with swords but using their Spiritual Intent. I love how they perfectly captured Ning Que's mental collapse through animation. I am so proud of how Ning Que is growing.

This was also a slow episode for me. It was quiet, scholarly, and focused on Ning Que reading. This was like a "training montage" but without the montage part. It feels like a filler episode that talks about the different mechanics of their power system.

This feels like a bridge episode, I feel like they are just setting up the different pieces for something big. There is a lot of talking in this one, and the political scene here feels slow. There is nothing much here compared to the previous episodes.

A very solid finale for what this season set out to do, nicely done wow. Doesn't wrap everything up neatly and that's honestly fine, it still lands emotionally where it needs to. And thats what I'm here for. What a lovely ending. Nicely done, its been a good series so far.

I noticed immediately how the animation just stepped up, its like they went all in delivering the final episodes. Even the OST hits different here, and seriously its well deserved. One of the more emotionally loaded episodes but done perfectly well. A well done episode indeed.

Wow what an episode. Though it's a bit noticeable that the show is wrapping up, it still does well to hit you just at the right spot. Though it is slow, and deliberately so, it is a good episode in my book.

Now I noticed things shifting in a big way, plot wise. Ning Que's whole energy this episode is different, very much in a way that had me sitting at the edge of my sit, because it just became serious.

One of the best episode so far in my opinion seriously wow. The emotional levels this thing took me is crazy, mahn what a good episode. I highly encourage that you watch it!

Sang Sang finally gets a proper episode. She's been in the background supporting Ning Que this whole time its nice seeing her get her own spotlight. A slow paced episode, very calm and emotional in a way, aside all the politics that's involved here and there, a very good episode.

Hahaha, things just keep getting messy for this guy, dude gets caught up in something that isn't even his fault and has to claw his way out, mahn hilarious. A slow episode, but it's worth it lol.

The Academy entrance exam episode and honestly way more chaotic than expected, the show just refuses to let things be calm. The chaos is well handled and the tension actually builds properly. In my opinion I'd say one of the more exciting episodes in a while.

Finally an academy arc! This episodes shifts to an academy entrance exam. The academy grounds were stunning it felt scholarly and powerful. The teachers were also great they looked smart and powerful. I was desperately rooting for Ning Que to pass the exams and prove himself.

Wow this episode turned into some political thriller as the Emperor was obsessed about who wrote the calligraphy. I like that this anime isn't just all about action and the dialogue here was certainly not boring. The character writing for the Emperor was also interesting.

This was a good episode after that fight scene. The introduction of the grand priest to end the fight made me feel the power of that position. This a nice world building episode that explores the political part of the world and the balance between Ning Que's personal mission.

Finally some action in this episode! I loved the fight scene in this ep, the pacing is relentless as the streets are full of action. And the duo standing back to back against the assassins made me feel like they were someone who you don't wanna mess with.

This is not my cup of tea as when the environment shifted killed the momentum. The calligraphy scenes were good but I'm waiting for our MC to get back to the action, the pacing feels too slow for me.
