This episode is slow on purpose. Satoru spends most of it running and piecing stuff together, so the whole vibe feels heavy. Not much happens on the surface, but you can feel something’s about to blow up by the end. If you’re into episode that build the tension before hitting you with the twist, this one was it!

The mystery is starting to unveil a bit, and it's super interesting to try to piece together who the killer really is. The arrest and seeing the man with the glasses at the end of the episode really make it feel eerie and I can't wait to find out what's going on!

You keep wondering what will happen next. Airi did her best & I'm glad she's okay. Just when Satoru gets closer to a discovery, the killer is always 2 steps ahead. I like this 1v1 psychological game that's going on now. Satoru gets one more revival. Can he do it this time?

Pieces finally clicking together through Sawada is deeply satisfying. The killer's pattern emerging across towns is chilling and clever. Airi's mother swapping places to protect Satoru is unexpectedly touching. Then that arrest — absolute cinema.

the atmosphere gets more intense. Pacing builds dread masterfully without overwhelming. Animation is standout here with haunting visuals and clever framing. We get deeper insight into motivations and fears, strengthening the cast. Tone is darker and more suspenseful.

The plot proceeds to thicken in this episode. Satoru coming closer to uncover the truth but as he finds clues, another question keeps on piling up. I'm really invested now on how he will uncover all the mysteries regarding this case.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting exactly at the halfway mark of Erased's 12-episode run, 'Grim Reaper' serves as a critical pivot point — the fallout from Episode 5's escalating dangers redirects Satoru's focus toward a broader, more systematic investigation into the mysteries surrounding him. This episode bridges the reactive desperation of the first half with the more calculated approach that defines the back half of the season. It lays essential groundwork for the revelations and confrontations that Episodes 7 through 12 will deliver.
