Synopsis

In Victorian London, Emma is a maid, quiet, kind, and completely used to knowing her place in the world. Then William Jones walks through the door. He's from a wealthy family, the kind that doesn't mix with servants, and yet the two of them can't quite stop thinking about each other. That's the whole setup, and the show knows it doesn't need anything more complicated than that. What makes it work is how seriously it takes the obstacles. The animation leans into period detail in a way that's genuinely impressive, from the fog-soaked London streets to the texture of everyday domestic life. The pacing is slow and quiet, the kind of show you watch when you want to actually feel something rather than just be entertained at high speed. If you liked the restrained emotional atmosphere of Arte or you're into historical settings done with care like Black Butler without the supernatural weirdness, this fits that space well. It's a 12-episode TV series, so it doesn't overstay its welcome. Fans of Romeo x Juliet who want something grounded and understated rather than theatrical will find a lot to appreciate here. It's patient storytelling about two people who probably shouldn't fall for each other, told with real sincerity.

Este animé francamente no lo recomiendo a no ser que te guste mucho la historia victoriana. En cuanto a contexto histórico este animé es una joya, hay mucho cuidado en los detalles de los escenarios y los elementos históricos de Londres en esa época. En cuanto a personajes, la verdad no son muy carismáticos y prima la introversión, tampoco hay mucho desarrollo de personaje. El animé es lento y con mucho silencio, no solo por ausencia de soundtrack sino por falta de diálogos o sonidos de ambiente. En cuanto a trama es bastante malo, no es una historia interesante.

Aunque el prólogo del capítulo me conmovió, siento que además de la historia de madame Kelly y Eleanore los protagonistas no aportan nada. Pésimos personajes y muy mal final.
