Synopsis
Having left London, and the man she loves, behind, Emma is now working as a maid for the wealthy Mölders family out in the countryside, trying to start fresh. New house, new coworkers, a charmingly eccentric mistress named Dorothea, and a whole lot of distance between her and William Jones. Meanwhile, William is back in London doing his best to play the dutiful heir, attending the right parties, meeting the right people. But he can't stop thinking about Emma. This 12-episode TV series picks up right where Season One left off and leans into everything that made it work, the quiet tension of two people separated by class, the slow ache of unresolved feelings, and a version of Victorian England that actually feels lived-in rather than decorative. The supporting cast gets real depth here too. Fellow servants at the Mölders estate have their own histories and complications, and the show takes its time letting those stories breathe. It's romantic without being saccharine, emotional without melodrama. Studio Ajia-do keeps the period detail sharp, from the architecture to the social etiquette, and the pacing stays patient in a way that rewards you for paying attention. If you liked the slow-burn romance and historical setting of Spice and Wolf, or the class-struggle themes in Arte, this is right in that lane. Fans of Romeo x Juliet who want something grounded and quieter will find a lot to appreciate here.

The romantic vibe was focused only on Emma, but the struggle was real for William, in a different turmoil. The evil aura also started lurking in this one, while William was overexerting himself. The animation of Tasha jumping off to Emma was smooth. Another conflict right at the end.

Theresa's words were reassuring, while Hakim's words of wisdom were epic! Dorothea was entertaining to watch, as she was also one of the supporters. The tone of this ep was supportive and hopeful.
konami★★★★★EP 9The most anticipated cliffhanger of all! That mother and son scene was extremely breathtaking. The emotions filled the place and that was a great way to have that pace of conversation. The tone was also mixed with toxicity, as the mocking and gossiping were quite intense. The toll of what William had done was taking into action, and both parties were struggling, making this episode hard to watch.
konami★★★★☆EP 8The pacing for this ep was totally slow, like it was dragging longer than anticipated. The plot was dialogue-driven, with the tone being sentimental and serious. William was focusing on business and the first time seeing him work since S1. Refreshing to see Monica and Hakim, too. The detailed animation of Eleanor's earrings before doesn't show anymore in this season.
konami★★★★★EP 7The tone of this ep was depressing. The heavy emotions were outpouring and that last scene, accompanied by melancholic music, made the bleak visuals more ripping. Hans opening up and relaxed were new sides of him that he had never seen before. William's strong resolve and his conversation with the Viscount were pretty intense. The toxicity of this ep was peak, but the pacing was slower, though.
konami★★★★☆EP 6Literally, going back and forth, was never an easy thing. Emma was always out of nowhere, running away. With how peak the previous ep, this one was slow-paced, along with the backstory of Richard and Aurelia. The animation on the horses were a bit weird, especially on that carriage where Aurelia was into. The family painting portraits were perfect, as it symbolizes the Jones family growing.
