EPISODE REVIEWS

Krillin is definitely struggling at that dinner table, and it is hard to watch him lie to Chi-Chi. She is going to be terrifying when she finds out Goku is dead.

Episode Context

Coming off the urgent preparations established in 'No Time Like the Present,' episode 7 narrows its lens entirely onto Gohan's solo survival training orchestrated by Piccolo, marking the true beginning of his transformation from sheltered child to capable fighter. This is early-stage groundwork in what will be a long buildup toward the Saiyan threat, and it feeds directly into 'Gohan Goes Bananas!' where his wilderness training escalates in unexpected ways.
