Episode Context

Sitting deep in the Cell Saga, episode 167 of 291 comes after Cell has reached a terrifying level of power and is now asserting dominance on a world stage, forcing the conflict out of the shadows and into the public eye. This episode bridges the gap between Cell's personal confrontations with the Z Fighters and the formal setup of the saga's climactic showdown. It directly sets the table for the iconic Cell Games arc, where Goku, Gohan, and the rest must prepare for a globally televised battle for Earth's survival.
