Episode Context

Episode 166 sits deep within the Cell Saga, arriving at the critical juncture where Cell's tournament, the Cell Games, takes center stage, shifting the arc's structure from frantic preparation into a formalized showdown. Prior episodes focused on training, transformation breakthroughs, and the looming threat of Cell reaching his perfect form, all building toward this very moment. This episode sets the stage for the Cell Games themselves, one of Dragon Ball Z's most iconic sequences, where Goku, Gohan, and the Z Fighters must decide who steps into the ring.
