garlic jr being the main villain right after frieza feels like such a massive step down and this aqua mist plot is already getting old

Episode Context

Episode 108 lands immediately after the resolution of the Frieza Saga, marking the start of the entirely filler Garlic Jr. Saga. It bridges the emotional exhale of Goku's survival with a new threat, giving the supporting cast, particularly Gohan and Krillin, center stage while Goku remains absent. This opening chapter establishes the conflict that will drive the next stretch of episodes before the series transitions into the canonical Trunks and Android arcs.
