Episode Context

Episode 109 falls squarely in the anime-only Garlic Jr. Saga, a filler arc bridging the Frieza and Android sagas while Goku remains absent from Earth. The previous episode established Garlic Jr.'s return from the Dead Zone, and this installment escalates his scheme by unleashing the Black Water Mist, setting up the inevitable showdown at Kami's Lookout in the episodes ahead.
