Episode Context

Episode 72 serves as the climax of the Hit assassination mini-arc that kicked off in Episode 71, bringing its central confrontation to a head. Sitting roughly at the midpoint of Dragon Ball Super's 131-episode run, this episode bridges the gap between major saga events. Following this high-stakes battle, the series shifts gears into lighter, character-focused episodes, including Gohan's Great Saiyaman movie storyline, before building toward the next major arc.
