Episode Context

Sitting at episode 23 of 131, this installment deepens the crisis established in the preceding episodes, placing Earth's defenders in an increasingly untenable position against Frieza's forces. It functions as a pressure-building chapter that raises the emotional and physical stakes before Goku's inevitable arrival shifts the battlefield dynamic. The groundwork laid here feeds directly into the larger Resurrection 'F' saga developments that follow.
