READTHROUGH
Caiman's Restless Watch and the First Encounter
Caiman sits in a temporary hideout, his restlessness palpable as he counts invisible gyoza. His thoughts stray to food, a simple human need, before he spots two men with cross tattoos. This marks them as members of the notorious Cross-Eyes gang. A sudden fight erupts, forcing Caiman to defend himself from their swift, venomous attacks. The air hums with tension as Caiman and the Cross-Eyes members, Dokuga and Tetsujo, recognize each other's deadly potential.
En's Vengeful Resurgence
Inside a mushroom-infested room, En lies severely weakened but begins his recovery. His subordinates, Shin and Noi, report their findings; Chota's deception as Nikaido is laid bare, irritating the already exhausted pair. Ignoring their weariness, En sits up, his resolve hardening. He summons his magical motorcycle, driven by a singular, consuming rage to reclaim Nikaido and eliminate Caiman completely. Fujita watches him speed away, holding Kikurage, wondering if their enemies can ever truly be defeated.
Ebisu's Trauma and Nikaido's Premonition
Ebisu returns to En's mansion, finding it stained with blood and dread. She encounters a distorted figure resembling Noi, clearly under the influence of dark magic. Fujita attempts to intervene and protect Ebisu, but the situation quickly spirals out of control, worsening Ebisu's already fragile mental state. Meanwhile, far away, Nikaido wakes with a deep unease, calling Caiman's name, sensing the brewing conflict and his peril. Later, the distorted magic dissipates, leaving Fujita to comfort a shattered Ebisu.
En's Cataclysmic Attack
The ground trembles violently as massive, mushroom-like structures erupt from the earth, tearing through buildings and reshaping the landscape. This sudden, terrifying manifestation of En's magic signals his full-scale assault. Dokuga and Tetsujo of the Cross-Eyes gang retreat, outmatched by the sheer scale of the attack, struggling to avoid the rapidly growing fungi and choking spores. Inside the chaos, Professor Kasukabe is trapped, and Nikaido begins to cough up mushrooms, a dire sign of En's magic taking hold. Caiman finds her, horrified, and desperately tries to save her as she gasps a warning: En is close.
The Lizard and the Mushroom King
Caiman carries the weakened Nikaido, trying to escape across the giant mushroom caps, a surreal and dangerous terrain. En finally appears, a towering figure atop a colossal mushroom, his eyes fixed on them with cold, murderous intent. Caiman draws his knives, determined to break the magical contract binding Nikaido by killing En. Their battle begins with an explosion of action, En deflecting Caiman's attacks, countering with magic that creates more fungi. En consumes a specialized mushroom, his power surging, mocking Caiman's struggle. Despite overwhelming odds, Caiman pushes forward, but En releases a massive burst of magic, causing giant mushrooms to sprout from within Caiman's body. Caiman screams in agony as his internal organs rupture, falling to his knees, his form grotesquely distorted. Nikaido lets out a soul-crushing scream, believing him truly lost.
The Aftermath: Nikaido's Fall and Caiman's Apparent End
Shin and Noi arrive at the devastated battlefield, a surreal forest of giant mushrooms. They discover Caiman's body, almost completely encased in fungi, a testament to En's immense power. Meanwhile, Nikaido is trapped within a massive mushroom mass, her consciousness fading, hearing Caiman's voice urging her to fight. Explosions rock the area, collapsing the mushroom structures. Nikaido and Caiman's broken body are thrown into the air; she desperately reaches for him, but he disappears into a dark abyss. En emerges, holding the unconscious Nikaido, victorious. Noi and Shin later stand at a lava-filled ravine, spotting Caiman's severed lizard head floating on the molten surface, believing him finally dead.
The Cross-Eyes' Scarred Past and New Hope
A flashback transports us to the past of the Cross-Eyes gang: Dokuga, Tetsujo, Sawa, and Ushishimada speak with reverence for their mysterious leader, 'the Boss.' We see their youth, where they were brutally persecuted and tortured by elite sorcerers for their inability to produce smoke. Dumped in Hole during a toxic rain, Dokuga realizes the pain means magic still runs in their veins. A mysterious hooded figure, 'the Boss,' appears, killing their captors and inviting them to follow. Back in the present, their hope for 'the Boss's' return wanes until Natsuki arrives, breathless with a clue from a 'lizard head' man. She voices doubts, noting the man lacked 'the Boss's' tattoos, leading the group to suspect an impostor.
The Terror of Curse
An ominous, decrepit house on the outskirts of town looms, shrouded in shadows, hinting at an ancient evil within. Inside, a terrifying creature of viscous black liquid, Curse, emerges from the shadows and attacks a Cross-Eyes member, consuming him gruesomely. Curse then takes on a distorted version of the man's appearance, its multiple eyes glowing. It reveals itself as a manifestation of pure magic, the embodiment of chaos and destruction. Curse launches a devastating attack, its black liquid limbs lashing out, but then recedes into the shadows as mysteriously as it appeared. The hideout is left in ruins, members injured, and a wounded man mentions 'Ichidatou,' hinting at a dark secret as Dokuga realizes their quest has led them into a terrifying conflict.
Caiman's Nightmare of Identity
The scene shifts to a peaceful, dreamlike version of the Hungry Bug restaurant in Hole, where Caiman and Nikaido share gyoza, talking of future plans. The dream quickly shifts: Nikaido disappears, the restaurant darkens, walls bleed black oil, and Caiman is left alone, calling out her name. He follows a spectral Nikaido into a hall of headless corpses, where he sees a horrifying vision of himself holding her severed head. More headless figures surround him, accusing him, as black liquid swirls. A headless body submerges itself in black liquid, suggesting rebirth or transformation. Caiman emerges from the liquid, speaking with a headless man about nightmares and the burden of the past. He is bombarded with visions of his past, longing for peace, only for his head to be severed again, symbolizing the endless cycle of violence defining his existence.
EPISODE REVIEWS

Everything starts coming together, and the tension keeps rising from one scene to the next. The pacing is excellent, and I never once checked how much time was left.

Un episodio en el que al fin ocurre el enfrentamiento entre En y Caiman, con una animación excelente por parte de MAPPA. De los mejores episodios de este anime.

When am I currently watching this episode? I got a freaking mind messed up! And I was shocked at what happened in the latter part! And I stopped watching the ongoing episodes back then because of how the plot twist is getting twisted all over again.😵💫
