To be completely honest, this is pretty much my least favourite episode so far... even though I did appreciate the Allen-Lenalee bonding.. the rest of it was unnecessary politics and chaos.

The start to another filler mission, though I like this one a bit more. It deals with a immortal swordsman. It was nice to see Allen and Lenalee make up after their outbursts on the last mission they were on together.

Nice episode. We do very quickly realize that evil does not lie only within the akumas, and that humanity is perfectly capable of being selfish and vile. I was happy to see Allen and Lenalee make up, they're best as friends. Kanda really got something coming for him this time.

It’s mission-of-the-week again, but a shake-up in presentation keeps it fresh. The formula's less stale as we get some sweet Lenalee-Allen chemistry and an MIA Kanda doing his own thing. Clever to switch POVs while uncovering the mystery and meeting the dangerous foe Vittorio.

This episode is better in terms of action than the earlier episodes due to the appearance of Vittorio, a strong swordsman,. The increased number of threats makes the situation feel more intense and fast-paced, adding more excitement to the mission.

Someone unlocks a new ability mid-fight and suddenly the battlefield looks very different.

The tone shifts toward heavier action as a powerful opponent steps into the spotlight. The swordplay here adds a sharper energy compared to earlier episodes. It’s one of those chapters where the series finally feels like it’s flexing its combat potential.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 16 of 103, this filler follows 'Beyond the Snowstorm' and its pursuit of the Leaf of Revival, offering a tonal reset before the next chapter of the main story. It does not advance the central narrative, but it feeds into the broader theme of Innocence discovery that drives the season. The episode leads directly into 'Pride of the Swordsman,' suggesting Vittorio's story gets a follow-up beat worth keeping an eye on.
