The first part of the episode deals with a cybercrime that goes off the rails. That Masaoka Shiki joke actually took me out oml. Love the Maki best girl propaganda at the end a very much needed break from the chaos of the first two parts.

I actually found the whole brainwashing VTuber plot kind of creepy until I saw Mashiro start acting like a dog, which brought back the laughs.

Glitchy, cyber-themed graphics for the online investigation. The gang trying to "sniff out" a brainwashing YouTuber is the peak moment. In this episode, I feel like technology is Nagumo's ultimate enemy.

Episode Context

Coming off the Phantom Thief Riverfake confrontation in Episode 7, this installment downshifts into standalone territory, prioritizing character moments and comedic breathing room at the two-thirds mark of a 12-episode run. It functions as a bridge episode, deepening the ensemble's personality without advancing a central plot thread. With four episodes remaining, this lighter entry likely sets the table for a more serialized push toward the season's conclusion.
