The first part of the episode deals with a cybercrime that goes off the rails. That Masaoka Shiki joke actually took me out oml. Love the Maki best girl propaganda at the end a very much needed break from the chaos of the first two parts.

I actually found the whole brainwashing VTuber plot kind of creepy until I saw Mashiro start acting like a dog, which brought back the laughs.

Glitchy, cyber-themed graphics for the online investigation. The gang trying to "sniff out" a brainwashing YouTuber is the peak moment. In this episode, I feel like technology is Nagumo's ultimate enemy.

A modern case involving technology pulls the team into unfamiliar territory. Mashiro enthusiastically experiments with gadgets while Nagumo tries to understand the digital clues. It’s a fun mix of classic detective work and modern problems.

Cybercrime! Nagumo thinks "The Cloud" is a weather forecast. Mashiro handles VTuber brainwashing with high-school violence.

The investigation finally turns into a ridiculous chase scene where everyone is running everywhere and nobody seems fully in control of the situation.

There is a theory that only idiots get easily brainwashed, what happened with Mashiro clearly proves the theory. We now get the official appearance of the big four creepy old dudes together. Yet another fun episode full of gags and parodies.

An episode full of shenanigans. The episode is one of the funniest so far. Not much going on besides the jokes and the chaotic and absurd humor shown but still one of the best episodes so far. The fact that the creepy men are acually the nicest is so insane and hilarious.

Jeez it’s always fun watching Mashiro 😂 This show is completely absurd but in the best way possible. Every scene turns into chaos and somehow it just works. I swear this anime keeps making me burst out laughing.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the Phantom Thief Riverfake confrontation in Episode 7, this installment downshifts into standalone territory, prioritizing character moments and comedic breathing room at the two-thirds mark of a 12-episode run. It functions as a bridge episode—deepening the ensemble's personality without advancing a central plot thread. With four episodes remaining, this lighter entry likely sets the table for a more serialized push toward the season's conclusion.
