Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 12: Retainer and Shaman

Tense building up, story progressing.

And the ending scene was unexpected — got me.

Overall — great episode, worth it, 9/10.

Higashi villagers = Punching bags NPC,

Pretty funny that their purpose is just to get massacre. It almost felt like they were wiped out in the first episode but i guess not.

A slower episode compared to what came before

Un episodio que cierra el primer cour de este anime, en el que se expande su universo y se revelan nuevos personajes y sus poderes, agregando además un toque de tensión y revelaciones que se desarrollarán en la segunda mitad de esta temporada.

We're already in episode 12, yet I'm still extremely confused on who's the "good guy" or who's the "bad guy". But maybe the beauty of this anime is that no one is innately good or bad; that's something to ponder about. The plot twist was top caliber though! No one could've expected that.

Dialogue-driven episode that maintained a tense atmosphere. It didn't really feel boring because it kept the mystery going throughout the whole episode, and the ending really made things better by leaving me intrigued.

This episode started with more mystery and dialogue, which kept the steady pacing going. I really liked how this one was laid out. Also, the subtle scenes of the Daemons getting fascinated by modern tech were so cute and funny. It really balanced the episode's atmosphere.

I've been wondering about the voices of the new faces. It had me hooked enough that I might look them up later, lol. I liked this episode. It was a bit tense, and it felt more like a setup that builds anticipation for the next one.

Sekali lagi, ini adalah episode yang cukup lambat. Tidak banyak yang terjadi selain para karakter mendiskusikan misteri dan langkah yang akan mereka ambil selanjutnya. Kita juga diperlihatkan kondisi desa setelah serangan, yang memberikan gambaran tentang besarnya dampak yang ditimbulkan. Namun, justru membuatku semakin bingung. Aku kasihan dengan anak-anak di desa, tetapi mereka tetap berusaha membunuh Yuru. Overall, ini tetap episode yang bagus dan menyiapkan untuk arc selanjutnya.

Definitely a much calmer episode that builds up the mystery we're bound to see on the next arc/episodes! I love how it transitions well on the four major places between the casts here, it makes it clear which groups prioritize specific goals for their own benefit. That ending though!
