Synopsis
A squad of thirteen heroes sets out to slay a Lord of Dark Beasts named Clevatess. They all die. Then Clevatess marches on the human capital and levels it. Pretty standard dark fantasy setup so far, right? Here's where it gets weird: amid the rubble, this terrifying beast lord finds a surviving baby, and decides to raise her. To pull that off, he resurrects one of the heroes he just killed, Alicia Glenfall, and binds her to his service. Now Clevatess is disguised as a human boy named Clen, traveling with a dead hero who has every reason to hate him and an infant who needs a wet nurse. That's your core trio for this 12-episode TV series from Lay-duce. The hook here is really the character dynamics. You've got a monster pretending to be human, a resurrected warrior forced to serve her killer, and a baby that somehow connects them. The moral lines get blurry fast. Clevatess isn't just a rampaging villain, and Alicia isn't just a noble hero anymore. The show leans into that ambiguity without being preachy about it. If you liked the "villain protagonist navigating a human world" angle from Overlord, or the way The Rising of the Shield Hero plays with who's actually good and who's actually terrible, this sits in that same space. It's darker and more introspective than either, though. Based on a web manga, so there's source material to dig into if the ending leaves you wanting more.

Another peak episode with it's dark elements and good animation
Very dark episode with the backstory of our "milkbag" girl Nell. This had en very emotional impact on me. Very good second episode!
Very strong start with an interessting story telling.
I really liked this one as a finale episode. It kept things interesting enough to make me want to watch the second season. I still wonder what Klen has been thinking this whole time, though. Lol. I really want to see what happens next. Let's go, Season 2!
What an ending. Well, it didn't really feel like an ending yet, so I'm really excited to see the next season! This episode was such a good conclusion to the season, though. It still kept things open for more as the story continues to expand.
I loved this episode. It was great as a season finale. Nothing really concluded yet—it just opened the door to even more mysteries. I truly appreciate the world-building of this anime now because it's becoming more and more intriguing.
Whatever is going on anymore, lmao. T^T The plot progression is going great and honestly keeps things so intriguing that I want to know what happens next. But I still have a lot of questions despite some major revelations being dropped.
Well, that definitely dropped some heavy lore and twists into the story. I liked how everything was laid out here. Aside from that, the fight was hella clean and amazing. That ending was pretty intriguing and made me want to see what happens next.
The story progression has been smooth so far, with a backstory involving Margo and Drel. The mystery only deepened with some twists from the very first few minutes of the episode. Nothing was really answered here; instead, more questions seemed to arise, lol.
Alicia's such a cutie, being so happy to be recognized as a hero. She deserved it! Anyway, I liked this episode. Nothing really major happened yet, but it built up some anticipation for the next one.
A good episode that leaned more into the backstory of Margo, Alicia's father, and Drel. It didn't really do much to add depth to Drel's character, though. Lol. Still, it was a good episode.
Slow-paced episode that focused more on the setup and laying the groundwork for a major event this season. Nothing much happened yet, but I could still feel that the story was progressing.
Rhode and Alicia's dynamic was really good. Surprisingly, they were complete baddies. But against a boss-level enemy, the outcome was unpredictable. I liked this episode, though. The story progression just keeps getting more intriguing.
The backstory didn't really have much impact on Drel's character. I don't know, maybe it dragged on a little too long, and it felt a bit awkward to have it told in the middle of a fight, lmao. Still liked this episode. Not great, but not bad either.
This episode focused more on building up the plot points for the season's ending. The atmosphere was a little tense throughout, which made things more enjoyable and interesting to watch.
The way this episode turned out was really good. The smooth animation was amazing. The story progression so far has me really interested, especially that ending scene, which proves that the plot is thickening. It's only just getting started!
This was such an intense episode. Alicia was such a baddie—I love her so much! Though, they really dragged the fight out a little bit. At the very least, I still liked how it turned out.
Dang, this was such an intense episode. It was a little nerve-wracking and unpredictable, which made it even better. I liked how the situation is becoming more complicated because it keeps you looking forward to what will happen next.
This was such a good episode. It had a slow start, but the story progressed really well. I loved how balanced it felt and how the situations could go from cute and wholesome to something critical. Things are looking so intriguing right now.
This episode was intense and packed with action scenes. I loved the smooth and clean animation in this one. The story progression is getting more intriguing, and that last scene definitely made things even more interesting.
