I was not expecting Mireia to be Romein this whole time. Her jumping out of her mirror art back in the flashback gave me absolute chills and her backstory with the Queen and the mirror voice is tragic as hell

Edison ambushing a cultist in his undergarments and using mana ore to make a death mask disguise had me laughing. The contrast between that dumb comedy and the horrifying lore drop right after was perfect

Mireia dragging Cardinal Romein into her mirror to steal his whole identity and physical body is so messed up and creepy. The dark fantasy tone came back with a vengeance this episode

The Death Mask magic is flat out horrifying to look at. Seeing Edison and Rion use it to sneak into the underground assembly really showed off how brutal the magic system in this universe gets

Kinda left me hanging, honestly. The whole backstory felt a little slow but necessary.

Galt scooping up tiny beast Alicia with his giant bird wings at the end had me sweating because he can actually understand her speech

That random serene vision of the girl watering roses right after Andrew blew his own body apart from magic strain was so strangely dark

All those students fighting with blood pouring from their noses gave me full chills and Clen just sitting on his high tower watching it happen makes it ten times worse

Lott whipping out a fragment of Trell treasure to casually slice through those giant plant shears showed how utterly helpless these kids really are against actual war gear

Galt swooping down as a giant bird and obliterating that wooden titan was terrifying, especially when Andrew immediately passed out dreaming about flowers

Alicia taking that much physical punishment and still trying to fight back with lightning magic blew my mind, but Clen just chilling on top of that spire explaining domain mechanics while the kids literally bleed out from mind control is so wild, you can really tell Vaudein treats this whole invasion like a board game

I think I held my breath the whole time during Alicia's scenes. Give this girl a break, please. T^T The episode was really good and filled with a lot of intense situations. I liked the pacing in this one, making it feel more uneasy and anxiety-inducing for the viewers.
