Very strong start with an interessting story telling.

Ooh, this was such an interesting episode already. A beast taking care of a baby? The plot had me interested, but not that much until I actually watched the first episode. It already looks very promising.

Episode Context

As the first of twelve episodes, 'The Lord of Dark Beasts' serves as the foundation for the entire season, establishing the central conflict between humanity and the dark beasts while introducing the core cast under high-pressure circumstances. There's no preceding episode context here, this is ground zero. It feeds directly into Episode 2, 'The Beast Lord in Captivity,' which deals with the fallout of the premiere's events and begins deepening the relationship between humanity and the threats they face.
