it makes me so incredibly sad how her parents do not even look at her or listen to her. she loves her sister so much and i just hope she does not shut herself out from her family completely. seeing the dad actually did that for her at the end was so cute tbh.

the institutional neglect is highly apparent here with people completely overlooking the club despite their achievements. conversely the internal progression of the team remains strong with desktomu already facing significant personal and tactical growth on the board.

Bro she literally won the regional tournament and is heading to nationals. This is literally like karasuno winning against shiratorizawa and nobody is even excited about it??? HELLAUR???? I cannot believe how completely ignored she is by her fam after doing all that

Episode Context

Sitting at the season's midpoint, this episode bridges Mizusawa's Tokyo regional triumph in Episode 11 and their arrival at the national stage in Episode 13. It functions as critical preparation, both narratively and emotionally, grounding the team's ambitions before the intensity of the Omi Jingu arc escalates the stakes considerably. The introspective tone here makes the upcoming national tournament payoff hit harder.
