Episode Context

Three episodes in, the series is still in its opening act, having used the first two episodes to shatter Aya's sense of normalcy and establish the threat her own family poses. This episode deepens the fallout of those early revelations, sharpening the conflict around Aya's dual nature and the relationships that will define the season. It functions as connective tissue between the inciting crisis and the broader celestial legend narrative that will drive the remaining twenty-one episodes.
